June 2025 Grant Deadlines for Canadian Charities


I’ve rounded up a fresh batch of June grant opportunities for nonprofits across Canada, and there’s something here for everyone, whether you’re focused on mental health, youth employment, reconciliation, the environment, or building stronger communities.


These grants support everything from program delivery to research, infrastructure, and even custom tech solutions. Deadlines are scattered throughout the month, so take a look and see if any feel like a good fit for your work. I hope this helps make your search for funding just a little bit easier.


Deadline: June 6

Description: The Fund focuses on supporting proven best practices to scale and expand services that create lasting change and positively impact Canadians' lives. The Fund seeks to empower organizations to meet the mental health needs of their communities. The Fund supports a wide range of organizations that provide mental health supports in communities across Canada.

Location: Canada-Wide

Amount: Up to $25,000

 

Deadline: Opens June 2

Description: Many British Columbians are facing economic recovery challenges and struggling to find stable employment opportunities. United Way BC’s Work Experience Opportunities Grant provides program participants on income or disability assistance with essential skills and hands-on paid work experience at non-profits to improve their employability preparing them for in-demand jobs. This province-wide grant stream supports BC non-profit organizations to deliver paid work experience placements while enhancing community benefits for program participants and for the programs offered by non-profit organizations.

Description: This grant is in response to the devastating events at the Lapu Lapu Day Festival in Vancouver. Available to nonprofits offering:- Immediate and mid-term recovery support- Mental health and counselling services- Healing and grieving opportunities- Community-led events and supports- Help with basic needs for those impacted

Location: Vancouver, BC

Amount: Up to $25,000

 

Deadline: June 9

Description: The Foundation supports charitable projects and programs in the areas of: Local Business, Health and Education. Applicants must hold charitable status with the Canada Revenue Agency and operate in, or benefit community members within one or all of the 11 communities Prospera serves. 

Location: BC Lower Mainland in one or all of the 11 communities Prospera serves.

Amount: Not listed

 

Description: Supports community-level reconciliation activities, events, and initiatives that contribute to cultural revitalization; elevate Indigenous culture, languages, and traditions; increase understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples; or other grassroots initiatives that move reconciliation forward.

Deadline: June 12

Location: Canada-wide

Amount: Up to $15,000

 

Deadline: June 13

Description: Encourages and supports advanced research in Canadian and Indigenous Canadian war and military art. Research must relate to any aspect of Canadian war or military art, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking and other media, and emphasize the use and investigation of the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, Canadian War Museum, and Library and Archives Canada. The Fellowship supports original research by scholars undertaking publishing, exhibition, and thesis and dissertation work or their equivalents in Canadian war or military art.

Location: Canada-wide

 

Deadline: June 15

Description: Grants are made on an annual basis only to organizations recognized as “Qualified Donees” by the Canada Revenue Agency. This includes registered charities, school divisions, and municipalities.

Deadline: June 22, 2025

Description: Provides in-kind support to develop custom software tools for mission-driven organizations. Ideal for projects that improve service delivery and impact.

Location: Open to organizations worldwide (including Canada)

Amount: In-kind value varies; includes full development of a custom digital solution tailored to your needs

 

Deadline: Open now to September 22, 2025

Description: Helps Albertans build spaces for active living in their community. Whether it be a skate park, playground, outdoor gym or sports court, we're giving back to Albertans and helping them live their best lives.

Location: Alberta

Amount: Up to $50,000

 

Deadline: June 15

Description: Supports programs and initiatives that empower single mothers to achieve economic security, build capacity, and create a positive future for themselves and their children.

Location: BC Lower Mainland 

Amount: Up to $30,000

 

Deadline: June 30, 2025 

Description: ATCO’s Community Energy Fund supports solutions, opportunities, and education that will contribute to a more sustainable, net-zero future. Projects could include energy audits, energy efficiency upgrades, education programs supporting renewable solutions, lower-emitting options for transportation, feasibility studies for clean energy, or renewable energy solutions. Nonprofits, schools, and municipalities can apply for up to $15,000.  

Location: Alberta

Amount: Up to $15,000


Deadline: Open now to October 1, 2025

Description: Focused on changing the lives of at-risk youth in the Fraser valley. Partnering with charities that are making a difference, impacting lives, and creating a better future.

Location: Charities that are located in Surrey, North Delta, Mission, Abbotsford, City of Langley, Township of Langley, or White Rock are eligible to apply.

Amount: One-time grants will range from $1,000 to $25,000. You should determine the amount of funding you need for your project and submit an application for that amount.

 

Deadline: Ongoing intake (subject to available funds)

Description: Supports urgent building life-safety upgrades and other critical time-sensitive support for cultural spaces.

Location: City of Vancouver

Amount: Up to $25,000

 

Deadline: June 23

Description: recognize innovative programs that prevent youth homelessness by stabilizing housing, improving wellbeing, and supporting long-term inclusion for youth ages 13–24.

Location: Canada-wide

Amount: Two winners will receive $10,000 each, with additional funding available for up to two honourable mentions.

 

Deadline: June 15, September 15, December 15, and March 15 (2026)

Description: These grants provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector. The small-scale, stakeholder-driven partnerships supported through Partnership Engage Grants are meant to respond to immediate needs and time constraints facing organizations in non-academic sectors. In addressing an organization-specific need, challenge and/or opportunity, these partnerships let non-academic organizations and postsecondary researchers access each other’s unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities on topics of mutual interest.

Location: Canada-wide

Amount: $7,000 to $25,000

 

Deadline: Quarterly – March 31, June 30, September 30, December 31

Description: Provides $500–$10,000 in funding for nonprofit and charitable programs that make a local impact in select Western Canadian cities. Administered by employee-led committees.

Location: Only eligible in Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg

Amount: $500 – $10,000

 

 

Deadline: June 3

Description: Supports projects that promote active citizenship, democracy, personal and social transformation by fostering the development of critical consciousness and skills required to promote a more just, equitable and sustainable society in Canada.

Location: Canada-Wide

Amount: The Catherine Donnelly Foundation provides one-year project grants generally in the $10,000 to $50,000 range. Their average grant amount is $25,000. The maximum you may request is $50,000.

 

 

Deadline: Ongoing - The Foundation aims to respond within two to four weeks to all initial project concept submissions.  If your organization is invited to submit a full proposal, it will take, on average, two to four months for a final decision.

Description: Provides funding to initiatives that align with its strategic, impact-driven approach. Funding is available in four priority areas: urban environmental sustainability, environmentally sustainable agriculture, and transitions to employment for youth and young adults, with a focus on collaborative, evidence-informed, and solutions-oriented initiatives.

Location: Canada-Wide

Amount: We do not have a defined range for grants.  Rather, we assess and fund on a case-by-case basis.  If we invite a full proposal, we will discuss with you the amount to be requested from the Foundation.
