November 2024 Grant Deadlines for Canadian Charities

As we officially enter the season of giving, nonprofits are busier than ever with holiday campaigns and year-end initiatives. It’s an important (and hectic!) time to connect with supporters, rally resources, and make a lasting impact.


But with so much on the go, it’s easy for grant deadlines to slip through the cracks—even though extra funds could be the just what your program needs as the year wraps up. That's I've put together a list of November grant deadlines to help you expand your vital programs when people need it most.


November Grant Opportunities


Child Care Small Capital Grants Program

o Funding Organization: City of Vancouver

o Deadline: November 12

o Location: Vancouver, BC

o Eligibility: Non-profit organizations that serve the Vancouver community.

o Description: Grants of up to $25,000 are available to provide capital funding for small childcare infrastructure improvement projects in Vancouver.


Calgary Foundation’s Neighbour Grants

o Funding Organization: Calgary Foundation

o Deadline: November 12

o Location: Calgary, AB

o Eligibility: Grassroots initiatives and organizations serving local communities in Calgary.

o Description: These grants support community-led projects that enhance the quality of life for residents and foster community engagement.


YVR Community Funding

o Funding Organization: Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

o Deadline: November 15

o Location: Vancouver, BC

o Eligibility: Non-profit organizations that contribute to the community near YVR.

o Description: YVR supports initiatives that enhance community well-being and sustainability, focusing on areas like education, environment, and social development.


Petro Canada Local Grants

o Funding Organization: CareMakers Foundation

o Deadline: November 15

o Location: National

o Eligibility: Non-profit organizations focused on supporting caregivers in local communities.

o Description: This funding supports initiatives that provide resources, support, and programs for caregivers, enhancing their well-being and effectiveness.


Celebrate Canada Program

o Funding Organization: Canadian Heritage

o Deadline: November 21

o Location: National

o Eligibility: Non-profit organizations, municipalities, and Indigenous groups hosting events that celebrate Canada’s history and heritage.

o Description: This program provides funding to support local events and activities that celebrate Canada Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, and other key national heritage days. Eligible activities include festivals, parades, and community gatherings that foster cultural understanding and inclusion.


CAI Youth Wellness Grant 2024

o Funding Organization: Community Action Initiative

o Deadline: November 22

o Location: British Columbia

o Eligibility: Organizations working to enhance youth wellness in British Columbia.

o Description: This grant supports initiatives that promote the mental health and well-being of youth, particularly through community-based programs.


National Autism Network Grant

o Funding Organization: Public Health Agency of Canada

o Deadline: November 25

o Location: National

o Eligibility: Organizations seeking to establish a national autism network.

o Description: This grant supports initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of individuals with autism through coordinated national efforts and resources.


Cowichan Valley Tourism Innovation Grant

o Funding Organization: Tourism Innovation

o Deadline: November 30, 2023

o Location: Cowichan Valley, BC

o Eligibility: Organizations and individuals focused on tourism innovation in the Cowichan Valley.

o Description: This grant supports projects that enhance the tourism experience and promote sustainable tourism in the Cowichan Valley. Eligible initiatives may include innovative tourism products, services, or experiences that benefit the community.


BC Gaming Grant - Human and Social Services

o Funding Organization: Community Services Program

o Deadline: November 30, 2023

o Location: National

o Eligibility: Organizations providing human and social services in their communities.

o Description: This funding supports projects aimed at improving the well-being of individuals and communities through various social services.


Edible Trees Grant

o Funding Organization: Tree Canada

o Deadline: Applications accepted from October to early December

o Location: National

o Eligibility: Educational institutions, Indigenous communities, community groups, gardens, food banks, community housing projects, municipalities, or other groups interested in planting edible trees on publicly accessible sites.

o Description: Eligible projects receive funding up to $10,000 to cover the cost of purchasing and planting trees and shrubs, site preparation, tree maintenance, planting materials, and developing educational materials.


CIBC Foundation Donations and Community Partnerships Funding

o Funding Organization: CIBC Foundation

o Deadline: Ongoing (applications reviewed quarterly)

o Location: National

o Eligibility: Registered charities and non-profit organizations in Canada.

o Description: The CIBC Foundation supports organizations that create meaningful change in communities through various initiatives, including education, health, and arts and culture.
