Description: CN supports nonprofits and community initiatives across Canada and the U.S. through donations and sponsorships, with a focus on three key areas: safety, people, and environment. Priority areas include food insecurity, community wellbeing, and environmental sustainability, with funding directed toward initiatives that create meaningful impact in communities where CN operates.
Deadline: Donations: September 30, 2026. Sponsorships: Rolling (January 1 – November 30)
Location: Across Canada
Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations
Amount: Up to $25,000+
Description: The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation supports charitable programs that help Indigenous youth in Canada reach their full potential. Projects can be in the areas of health, education, and social connection.
Deadline: October 7, 2026 or until 200 applications are received
Eligibility: Indigenous-led organizations such as Band Councils, Indigenous Governments or representative groups, community groups and non-profits. Non-Indigenous-led organizations can apply if they demonstrate a clear and tangible relationship with an Indigenous organization and have documented support from an Indigenous-led organization or community.
Location: Canada-wide
Amount: Up to $25,000
Description: This program provides funding to recurring local festivals across Canada that celebrate local artists, artisans, heritage performers, and Indigenous cultural carriers—including 2SLGBTQI+ and Indigenous cultural celebrations. Festivals must actively engage the community, be accessible to the general public, and have organized a previous edition within the past two years.
Deadline: October 15, 2026 4:00PM ET
Eligibility: Local non-profit groups or organizations, or local Indigenous governments or organizations (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis), that have successfully organized a past edition of the festival within the last two years.
Location: Canada-wide
Amount: The total amount requested may not exceed $200,000. The program may fund up to 100% of eligible expenses or $100,000 per project in the case of grants and 100% of eligible expenses or $200,000 per project in the case of contributions.
Description: Provides financial assistance to community-based organizations that are directly supporting family caregivers. The grant can be used for operational support for programs like educational services, transportation, and respite care.
Deadline: October 17, 2026
Eligibility: Registered Canadian charities that are supporting family caregivers at a community level.
Location: Canada-wide, with a focus on local community-level impact.
Amount: $7,500
Description: The Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 4.0 provides flexible funding to Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving organizations across Canada. Funding is available to strengthen organizational capacity, expand community programs and services, and invest in community spaces. Initiatives must address at least one of three focus areas: combating anti-Black racism, improving social outcomes, or improving economic outcomes.
Deadline: October 20, 2026 at 12:00 PM PT
Eligibility: Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving (B3) organizations based in Canada. Initiatives must address at least one of the fund’s focus areas and align with the Sustainable Development Goals and Social Determinants of Health. Unincorporated organizations or groups may apply in partnership with an incorporated B3 organization.
Location: Canada-wide
Amount: Up to $30,000 through the Core Stream, up to $80,000 through the Catapult Stream, or up to $200,000 through the Community Spaces Stream.
